He also speculated that Trump was intentionally inflating oil prices to enrich himself and family members. Lott, a special assistant on domestic policy, described the government as 'uncontrolled' and alleged that lower-level officials make policy determinations on behalf of the president.
Both officials have faced online backlash, with some calling for their immediate firing. However, Lott has responded, stating that his comments were not contradictory to the administration's agenda and that he remains committed to carrying out its policies.
