A man was shot dead by US Secret Service agents after opening fire at a security checkpoint near the White House while President Donald Trump was inside.
The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Nasire Best, believed he was Jesus, according to court records.
Best was shot in return after firing three times at officers stationed at the checkpoint, with Secret Service agents immediately returning fire.
About 30 shots were fired, and a bystander was injured in the incident.
Best was taken to hospital but later died, with authorities confirming that he was known to authorities and had previously been subject to a 'stay-away order' from the area.
