Prateek Yadav, stepson of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, has died at the age of 38 in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow.
According to Civil Hospital director Dr GP Gupta, Prateek was brought to the hospital at 5:30am after being found unwell, but despite efforts by the medical team, he was declared dead at 5:55am.
The exact cause of death will only be clear after a postmortem examination.
Prateek was the son of late Mulayam Singh Yadav's second wife Sadhna Gupta and had largely stayed away from active politics, focusing on business ventures.
He was associated with the real estate and fitness sectors and owned a gym in Lucknow under the name “Iron Core Fit”.
Prateek was also involved in animal welfare and ran an organisation named “Jeev Ashray”, which worked for the rescue, treatment, feeding and care of stray dogs.
