Nationalist Congress Party MP Supriya Sule has urged India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to provide urgent assistance to 41 Indian citizens stranded in Riyadh. The passengers were on an Akasa Air flight to Mumbai, which was suddenly cancelled.
The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has confirmed that it is actively looking into the matter and coordinating with the airline. Akasa Air has stated that it has been monitoring the geopolitical tensions and has been operating flights to and from Riyadh intermittently, in the interest of safety.
The airline has provided full refund options to the affected passengers and is in touch with their travel agents to assist with alternate travel options. Passengers have been advised to check the airline's official website or mobile applications for updates on flight schedules and bookings.
