Lucknow: In a significant move to transform healthcare in Uttar Pradesh, POCT Group, a leading healthcare solutions provider, has announced plans to deploy large-scale artificial intelligence-based systems to digitize clinical workflows in the state's public healthcare facilities by April. This ambitious initiative builds on the company's existing laboratory digitization program, which has already achieved a 60% reduction in diagnostic report turnaround time across over 1,300 government health facilities. The company's Laboratory Information System has automated the process of transmitting test results to a digital platform, eliminating handwritten reports and manual data entry. This has resulted in patients receiving test reports directly via SMS and WhatsApp, reducing the need for repeat hospital visits and long queues for report collection. For those without smartphones or facing digital literacy challenges, printed reports continue to be provided at laboratories. POCT's digital infrastructure meets the standards set by Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and industry-leading data security norms, with systems hosted on a cloud service provider empanelled by CERT-In. The automated data transfer process has significantly reduced errors associated with manual reporting. The initiative has received a boost from Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, who emphasized the potential of artificial intelligence in improving healthcare services, including efficiency, transparency, and accessibility. POCT plans to expand its AI-based interventions to cover preventive healthcare, early disease detection, and end-to-end clinical workflow management at scale in government hospitals, aligning with the state government's broader push to leverage AI and digital technologies for future-ready healthcare governance.
