Bulls Unleashed: Alanganallur Jallikattu Steals the Show, TN CM Announces Reward for Brave Tamers

Madurai, Tamil Nadu - The Alanganallur Jallikattu event on Saturday showcased the raw energy of the traditional bull taming sport, with numerous ferocious bulls leaving tamers stunned. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, who witnessed the event, announced a government job in the Animal Husbandry department for the best tamer who successfully tamed the maximum number of bulls. As part of his initiative to promote Jallikattu, Stalin also announced the establishment of a state-of-the-art training and treatment centre in Alanganallur at a cost of ₹2 crore. The centre will provide specialized facilities for the bulls and their trainers. During the event, 14 people were injured, with 4 being admitted to the hospital for treatment. The crowd was momentarily panicked when a bull ran loose, but it was quickly secured by its owners. The bulls, known for their strength and ferocity, proved to be a challenge for the tamers, who eventually declared them winners. Notable bulls, including those owned by AIADMK's former state minister C Vijayabhaskar, actor Soori, and Sri Lankan politician Senthil Thondaiman, earned gold coins for their owners due to their exceptional performance. A total of 465 tamers participated in the final event, with nearly 825 bulls being unleashed into the arena. The event was inaugurated by State Commercial Taxes and Registration Minister P Moorthi, with Madurai District Collector Pravin Kumar and other senior officials in attendance.
