Delhi residents woke up to a thick fog on Tuesday, prompting an orange alert from the India Meteorological Department. The city's air quality index (AQI) stood at 254, categorizing it as 'poor', according to the Central Pollution Control Board. Temperatures are expected to remain low, with a maximum of 20°C and a minimum of 8°C, as per IMD's forecast. A red alert was issued for several areas, including North Delhi, while an orange alert was issued for North West Delhi, West Delhi, and South West Delhi. The city is expected to experience foggy days until February 8, with temperatures ranging from 20-23°C during the day and 8-10°C at night. On Monday, over 300 flights were delayed due to dense fog, which persisted for over six hours. The maximum temperature was five degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was two degrees above normal. The city will remain foggy until February 8, with no weather warnings issued for the period.
