A tea break turned into a nightmare for two women in Delhi's Nehru Place area as a verbal altercation over catcalling escalated into a physical attack and racial abuse.

The women alleged that their clothes were torn, they were hit with bamboo sticks and faced racial abuse by a group of men near a tea stall on Sunday morning.

Four people have been identified in the case and two have been detained, while multiple police teams are conducting raids at locations linked to the accused.

The incident was reported at 7 am on May 10, and the women were taken to AIIMS for medical examination. A case has been registered under various sections of the BNS.
