A special court in India has granted anticipatory bail to former Karnataka minister B Nagendra in the Karnataka Valmiki Development Corporation corruption case. The court's decision, announced on Wednesday, comes with several conditions, including a ₹2 lakh bond and two sureties. Nagendra's defense team argued that his transactions with Nekkanti Nagaraj were personal and unrelated to the alleged corruption, while the prosecution presented evidence of shell companies and money laundering. The Enforcement Directorate had earlier attached properties worth ₹8.07 crore linked to Nagendra. The investigation continues, with the CBI and ED tracing assets and financial trails. Nagendra's anticipatory bail will allow him to remain free while the probe unfolds.
