India delivered a scathing critique to China over its admission of providing support to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, a military engagement in May 2025. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasized that countries backing efforts to protect terror infrastructure must consider the impact on their global standing.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the international community is closely watching how major powers align themselves. He clarified that Operation Sindoor was a necessary measure to safeguard national security against cross-border threats.
The operation was a calibrated, multi-domain surgical strike that lasted 88 hours in response to the April 22, 2025, terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were killed. China's admission of providing technical assistance to Pakistan during the conflict has been corroborated by reports in Chinese media.
India marked the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor on May 7, with the MEA spokesperson reiterating that countries must reflect on whether supporting terrorist infrastructure affects their reputation and standing.
