Indian Army Heroes Honored: Stories of Bravery Behind Republic Day Gallantry Awards

President Droupadi Murmu has approved the conferment of Gallantry and Distinguished Service Awards on Indian Army personnel, marking a momentous occasion on the eve of Republic Day. These awards, including Kirti Chakras, Shaurya Chakras, Sena Medals, and Param Vishisht Seva Medals, are a testament to the bravery and dedication of our soldiers. A total of 10 Kirti Chakras were awarded to soldiers who demonstrated exceptional courage in the face of danger. Major Arshdeep Singh was recognized for his actions on the Indo-Myanmar border, where he launched a fearless assault and neutralized several armed cadres. Naib Subedar Doleshwar Subba was awarded for his bravery during a counter-terrorist operation in Kishtwar district, where he eliminated a hardcore foreign terrorist. The President also approved the conferment of 7 Shaurya Chakras to soldiers who displayed unwavering courage and fighting spirit. Lieutenant Colonel Ghatage Aditya Shrikumar was recognized for his precision operation along the Indo-Myanmar border, which led to the destruction of a militant camp and the neutralization of nine armed cadres. Major Anshul Baltoo was awarded for his actions in Assam's Dima Hasao district, where he single-handedly neutralized an armed cadre and eliminated three militants. A total of 19 Param Vishisht Seva Medals, 4 Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, 35 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, and 7 Yudh Seva Medals were conferred on soldiers who demonstrated distinguished service and operational leadership. Additionally, 85 Vishisht Seva Medals were awarded, along with 81 Mention-in-Despatches for service in operations and rescue missions. These awards are a testament to the bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers, who put their lives on the line to protect our nation. Their selfless service and dedication to duty are an inspiration to us all, and we salute their bravery and sacrifice.
