Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to reduce fuel consumption amid the West Asia conflict, several Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ruled states have announced measures to cut down on fuel usage.

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed a 50% reduction in the fleet of vehicles for himself and his cabinet, and has asked ministers, MPs, MLAs, and public representatives to use public transport for one day every week.

Additionally, 50% of internal meetings in the state secretariat and directorate should also be conducted virtually, the CM said.

In Madhya Pradesh, CM Mohan Yadav has announced that the number of vehicles for his convoy will be reduced and urged the ministers to follow suit.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has also announced a reduction in the use of vehicles for official purposes, and in Rajasthan, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed that convoys be reduced and vehicles used for security should also be rationalised.

In Maharashtra, CM Devendra Fadnavis has said that ministers will need to obtain prior approval from him for using government aircraft, and to restrict non-essential air travel.
