The Karnataka government has suspended Director General of Police (DGP) Ramachandra Rao with immediate effect following the circulation of a viral video allegedly showing him engaging in inappropriate behavior with women while in uniform. Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara confirmed the suspension, citing the gravity of the situation and the need for a thorough investigation. The probe will examine the authenticity of the video, the identities of the women involved, and other aspects of the case. If the allegations are found to be true, Rao may face dismissal from service, according to the minister. Rao has denied the allegations, claiming the video is fabricated, but the government has vowed to let the law take its course.
