Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed that one person has been arrested in connection with the discovery of gelatin sticks on the route of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's convoy during his Bengaluru visit on Sunday.
The person who called to report a bomb on the route has been arrested and is being questioned, while all materials found, including the gelatin sticks, are being investigated.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also sought permission to probe the case and will assist local police in the investigation.
A team from the NIA is en route to the spot where the suspicious packet containing two gelatin sticks was found nearly a km away from the NICE Road junction near Thathaguni, Kaggalipura.
The gelatin sticks were found by a police constable during an area domination exercise, approximately 25 feet away from the road near a compound wall.
An investigation has been launched, and special teams have been formed to trace the suspects.
