A 25-year-old airport staff member has been arrested in Bengaluru after allegedly sexually harassing a South Korean woman at Kempegowda International Airport on Thursday. According to police, the accused had been working at the airport and had claimed that a 'beeping sound' was coming from the woman's bag, leading to a separate inspection. However, under the guise of conducting a security check, the man allegedly took the woman to a men's toilet and touched her inappropriately. The incident occurred when the woman was heading to board a flight to Korea. Airport security was alerted after she came out of the restroom, and the accused was detained on the spot. A review of CCTV footage from the airport premises confirmed the woman's allegations, leading to the registration of a case under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to sexual harassment. The accused, who has been identified, is currently under investigation to determine if he was involved in any similar incidents in the past. The police have taken swift action in this case, and further investigation is underway to ensure justice is served.
