A family in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly witnessed a miracle when a woman who had been declared brain-dead reportedly showed signs of life while being taken back from a hospital.
Vineeta Shukla, who had fallen unconscious on February 22 after complaining about high blood pressure, was first taken to a government hospital in Pilibhit and later referred to Bareilly for further treatment.
Her husband, Kuldeep Shukla, said the miracle happened the next day while they were transporting her back home. Near Hafizganj, the car reportedly hit a pothole or bump in the road.
Kuldeep Shukla claimed that immediately after the impact, Vineeta began breathing again.
Doctors suspect possible snake-bite toxin and treated her with anti-snake venom after relatives noticed slight body movement.
After beginning anti-snake venom treatment, doctors said some movement was observed within 24 hours. Over the next week, Vineeta gradually regained consciousness.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) denied claims that a pothole existed on the route where the incident reportedly occurred.
