In a shocking turn of events, two more individuals linked to the water-filled Noida plot where a 27-year-old techie lost his life have been arrested. Ravi Bansal and Sachin Karanwal, office bearers of Lotus Greens Pvt Ltd and shareholders of the plot, were taken into custody on Thursday. The plot's poor maintenance has been under scrutiny, with police forming four teams to arrest the suspects named in the case. According to the police, the two arrested men were among five shareholders, including MZ Wiztown promoter Abhay Kumar, who are facing charges under the Environment (Protection) Act, the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, and other sections for negligence. On Tuesday, Abhay Kumar, the promoter of MZ Wiztown, was arrested and sent to six-day judicial custody. Lotus Greens has denied responsibility, claiming the plot was transferred to another party in 2019-20. However, investigators and eyewitnesses suggest that the plot was in an excavated condition when the promoter received it. Yuvraj Mehta's tragic accident occurred on Saturday morning when he lost control of his vehicle in dense fog and fell into the pit. Despite attempts by emergency services to save him, Mehta died after being trapped in his partially submerged car for nearly 90 minutes. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, with more arrests likely. The Noida Authority's approval for the land transfer in 2019-20 has raised questions about the plot's maintenance and safety measures.
