A 27-year-old software engineer's tragic death in a pit in Greater Noida has led to a high-level probe. Yuvraj Mehta, 27, drowned after his car fell into a water-filled excavation pit while he was on his way home from work on Sunday. Despite desperate calls for help, emergency services were unable to reach him in time. The Uttar Pradesh government has taken swift action, removing Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M and ordering an inquiry into the incident. A three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to look into the matter, led by ADG Bhanu Bhaskar. The team must submit its report within five days. Police have registered a case against two real estate developers, citing alleged negligence, including a failure to install barricades or reflectors at the accident site. The autopsy report revealed that Mehta suffered asphyxia due to drowning, followed by cardiac arrest, which led to his death. An FIR has been filed against the developers, with charges including culpable homicide and causing death by negligence. The victim's father had filed a complaint, and the police have assured a thorough investigation into the incident.
