Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel's daughter Anar Patel has sparked a debate by stating that Patel girls are increasingly marrying outside the community due to the lack of capable young men. In a viral video, Anar Patel, president of Shree Khodaldham Trust, said that many boys in the community are not working, drink alcohol, and roam outside, leading their sisters to marry outside the community.
She also asked why society continues to advise daughters on the issue, instead of addressing the root cause. Anar Patel was speaking at an event where she unveiled a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, praising him for teaching the importance of organisation.
However, she also expressed concerns about the influence of social media and television channels, saying that Sardar Patel would have struggled to unite the 562 princely states if he were alive today.
