New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday formally welcomed Nitin Nabin as the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) 12th national president, praising his youthful energy and vast experience. Nabin, a 45-year-old five-time legislator from Bihar, was unanimously elected as the party's new leader without a contest. Modi, addressing the party cadre, expressed his pride in being a BJP worker and Nitin Nabin as his boss. The Prime Minister highlighted Nabin's simplicity and natural leadership style, which has earned him the respect of his colleagues. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining ties with the party's allies in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Modi noted that the new president has taken over the reins at a critical time, when the country is moving towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat (developed India). He praised Nabin's ability to adapt to the changing times, from being active users of AI to being a millennial leader. Reflecting on the BJP's journey, Modi credited the party's past leaders, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani, and Murali Manohar Joshi, for laying the foundation for the party's growth. He also acknowledged the contributions of leaders like M. Venkaiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari, and Rajnath Singh. Modi emphasized that the BJP values relationships over membership and has a national outlook, which has enabled it to expand its reach across the country. He criticized the Congress for propagating dynastic politics and accused it of shying away from assessing the reasons for its electoral defeats. The Prime Minister highlighted the BJP's work ethic and mantra of service to people, which has ensured decisive mandates in states where it has been in power for long. He cited the examples of Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Bihar, where the party has consistently performed well. Modi urged the BJP cadre to learn from the mistakes of the Congress party and ensure that the party remains insulated from its bad qualities. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a distance from dynastic rule and administrative lapses, which have marred some BJP-ruled states. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the BJP will continue to grow and expand its reach, citing the party's unprecedented results in Maharashtra local polls and its strong presence in Kerala. He urged the party workers to remain united and focused on their goals, as the country moves towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat.
