A team of international experts from the US and Canada has begun an on-site inspection of India's Polavaram major irrigation project, which is receiving 100% central funding. Led by David B Paul and Gias Franco de Cisco from the US and Seas Hinsberger from Canada, the team aims to assess the project's progress and ensure quality, safety, and timely completion. The experts reviewed key components of the project, including the dam, diaphragm wall, and construction materials. They were accompanied by officials from the Central Water Commission and the Polavaram Project Authority. The inspection, which will continue until January 22, will also involve discussions with Union water resources ministry officials in New Delhi. The foreign team's findings and recommendations are expected to play a crucial role in the project's future execution.
