In a landmark move, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal launched the 'Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna', a revolutionary healthcare scheme that offers free cashless medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh to every family in the state. This ambitious plan will benefit over 65 lakh families, making Punjab the first state in the country to provide universal healthcare coverage. Under the scheme, any resident of Punjab with an Aadhaar card and voter ID can avail the benefits, which include over 2,500 medical procedures. The scheme covers both government and private hospitals, ensuring that people can access quality healthcare without worrying about the cost. Speaking at the launch event, Arvind Kejriwal hailed the Mann government's achievements in the healthcare sector, saying that the last four years have been a golden period for Punjab. He highlighted the establishment of over 1,000 'mohalla' clinics, the hiring of 1,100 doctors and specialists, and the upcoming 500 more 'mohalla' clinics and 2,500 'pind clinics' in each village. Kejriwal also took a swipe at previous governments, pointing out that Punjab had seen a mere 400 primary health centres in 75 years, while the current government has achieved 10 times more in just four years. The Delhi CM also praised the Mann government for setting a new benchmark in healthcare, saying that this scheme is a historic milestone for the state. The event was attended by several key leaders, including Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Aman Arora, and Harpal Singh Cheema. The 'Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna' is set to transform the healthcare landscape of Punjab, making it a shining example for other states to follow.
