Mumbai, Maharashtra - In a scathing post on X, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray addressed the party's dismal performance in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls, where they secured only 13 seats. The BJP-led coalition won 1,425 seats across 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra, including a landslide victory in the BMC. Thackeray described the election as a battle between 'immense financial power' and 'authority' versus 'Shivshakti'. He congratulated the newly elected corporators and vowed that the MNS would continue to fight for the rights of the Marathi people, language, and identity. The MNS chief warned that ruling parties would not hesitate to exploit the Marathi people and urged his supporters to remain vigilant. Thackeray also announced that the party would analyse the election results and take necessary actions to improve its performance in future polls. The BMC election results saw the BJP winning 89 seats, Shiv Sena securing 29, and Shiv Sena (UBT) bagging 65 seats. The Congress and its allies managed to win 24 and 8 seats respectively. As the MNS struggles to regroup and reassess its strategy, Thackeray's words serve as a rallying cry for his supporters, who will be watching closely to see how the party responds to this setback.
