Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Sanatan Pandey expressed outrage after being overlooked as the chief guest at a recent railway event in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh. Pandey, who represents the area in parliament, felt that officials had failed to do their job, sparking his ire. He questioned whether they should face consequences for their inaction, suggesting that they should be 'beaten with shoes' if they don't perform their duties. The event, held at Phephna railway station, had been organized with UP Minister of State for Ayush, Dayashankar Mishra 'Dayalu', as the chief guest. However, Mishra cancelled his appearance citing unavoidable circumstances. Pandey criticized the decision, stating that the central government's actions have shown its true colors once again. Pandey's comments have sparked a response from BJP Rajya Sabha MP Neeraj Shekhar, who claimed that the programme was intended to highlight a new train stop and that Mishra was chosen as the chief guest due to a letter from the railway minister. Pandey remains adamant that the officials should be held accountable for their actions and is willing to face any consequences that may arise from his statements.
