Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) secured a vote of confidence in the Tamil Nadu state legislative assembly, winning 144 majority votes.

The vote was held in six rounds, block-wise, with TVK surpassing the required 118 seats to form the government.

Rebel AIADMK MLAs extended their support to TVK, with 25 MLAs backing the trust vote and 22 opposing it.

Five MLAs, including a BJP lawmaker, abstained from voting.

Before walking out, Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin criticized the government's approach, saying it should focus on 'Real governance' rather than 'Instagram Reel' governance.
