Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust board chairman BR Naidu has expressed concerns over the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)-led special investigation team's (SIT) handling of the ghee adulteration case. The SIT submitted its final charge sheet to the court last week, but Naidu claims that the report has failed to establish the truth behind the controversy surrounding the laddu preparation process. Naidu pointed out that the SIT's investigation has raised more questions than answers. He accused the agency of ignoring the role of real culprits behind the ₹250 crore scam. The TTD chairman has requested the SIT to conduct further inquiry and file a supplementary charge sheet to bring the real culprits to justice. One of the key concerns raised by Naidu is the lack of transparency in the SIT's report. He claimed that the agency had initially found evidence of animal fat in the ghee used in the laddu preparation, but the final report has contradicted this finding. Naidu alleged that the previous regime had compromised the sanctity of the sacred offering by using adulterated ghee mixed with chemicals, putting the health and lives of devotees at risk. The TTD chairman also pointed out that the SIT's report has highlighted the role of certain individuals, including Kaduru Chinna Appanna, who served as personal assistant to former TTD chairman Y V Subba Reddy. Appanna was found to have made significant property purchases despite earning a relatively low salary. The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has defended the SIT's report, stating that it has cleared the previous regime of any wrongdoing. However, Naidu has demanded a thorough investigation into the corrupt practices of the accused individuals. The controversy has sparked a heated debate, with both parties accusing each other of politicizing the issue. The TTD chairman has called for a transparent and unbiased investigation to bring the real culprits to justice and restore the sanctity of the sacred offering.
