Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has secured his position as the head of the state government after winning a trust vote in the state legislative assembly. With 144 votes, a significantly larger number than required, Vijay has solidified his position as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

The trust vote was not without drama, as the assembly witnessed chaos, infighting, and a walkout. The unexpected support from a rebel AIADMK faction, which backed Vijay during the floor test, proved to be a game-changer for him.

Leader of Opposition and DMK MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin criticized AIADMK's faction support for Vijay, saying that the party MLAs which fought under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were now supporting Vijay.

Vijay faced criticism for appointing his astronomer Rickey Radhan Pandit Vetrivel as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for the Chief Minister. However, Vijay revoked Vetrivel's appointment right after winning the trust vote.

In his address after winning the trust vote, Vijay promised that his government will remain secular and will not engage in horse trading. He expressed gratitude to all the MLAs who gave him support and said that his government will run the state with the speed of the horse.
