The deal, which includes an option for an eighth season, will see Soderstrom's total compensation potentially reach $131 million with the inclusion of bonus provisions, pending a successful physical examination. Soderstrom, 24, has made a remarkable transition from a 2023 debut with 45 games to playing 145 of the 158 games in his first full major league season this year. He showcased impressive statistics, including a .276 batting average, 25 home runs, and 93 RBIs, while striking out 141 times and walking 55. Drafted 26th overall by the Athletics in 2020, Soderstrom has secured a long-term contract to stay close to his hometown of Turlock, California.
