FIFA President Gianni Infantino has responded to criticism of ticket prices for the upcoming World Cup, amid growing scrutiny over the cost of attending matches.

Infantino revealed that around 130,000 tickets had been made available under a special allocation scheme for regular fans, with prices ranging from USD 60 to USD 32,970.

He defended the prices, saying that they were comparable to other US sports during their playoffs, and that the average ticket price was below USD 500 for the tournament.

Infantino also addressed the controversy surrounding Somali referee Omar Artan's inability to enter the United States, saying that FIFA's influence has its limits when it comes to government decisions and immigration matters.

He expressed disappointment over the situation, but stressed that FIFA tries to find solutions and respect the decisions taken by governments and police forces.
