In a nail-biting finish to the season-opening match of the TGL's second season, Billy Horschel's incredible 37.5-foot eagle putt secured a 6-4 victory for the Atlanta Drive Golf Club over the New York Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The match saw a dramatic turn of events, with the Drive initially building a 4-1 lead, only to see New York tie it up with three points over the next four holes. The final hole, a par-5 called 'Quick Draw,' turned out to be a deciding moment, as team anchors Horschel and Xander Schauffele faced off with the match on the line. Horschel's remarkable shot, which gently curved from left to right, sealed the deal, while Schauffele's attempt to tie the hole fell just short. The second season of the indoor, simulated golf league features the same six teams and rosters as Season 1, with star Justin Thomas absent due to back surgery and Lucas Glover not playing. Chris Gotterup, making his debut as an injury replacement, hit the first drive of the TGL season, and his birdie at No. 10 put Atlanta ahead 4-1. However, Matt Fitzpatrick's birdie at the 14th hole tied the match, setting the stage for Horschel's clutch putt. The TGL's second season will continue with a match between Boston Common Golf and Los Angeles Golf Club on Friday night, followed by a string of matches on consecutive Tuesdays and Mondays before concluding the regular season on March 1-3. The playoffs will take place on March 17 and 23-24.
