In a decisive victory, Trevor Lawrence led the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 48-20 win over the New York Jets on Sunday. The quarterback accounted for six touchdowns, including a career-high five passing scores, and completed 20 of 32 passes for 330 yards without a turnover. Lawrence's performance was highlighted by a 15-yard scramble in the first quarter, where he rolled left, juked Will McDonald, and scampered down the sideline for a score. The Jaguars scored touchdowns on their first three possessions for the first time since 1998, and topped 40 points through three quarters for the first time since 2005. The Jets struggled to keep up, allowing their most points since a 54-13 loss to New England in 2021. Brady Cook, the undrafted rookie quarterback, completed 22 of 33 passes for 176 yards, but also threw three interceptions. Running back Breece Hall was limited to 23 yards on 12 carries against the NFL's top rushing defense. Travis Etienne caught three of Lawrence's touchdown passes, including a 45-yard screen pass that ended with a flip into the end zone. The Jaguars' running back also performed well, helping the team reach 10 wins for the first time in 18 seasons. The loss was marked by controversy, as Jets defensive lineman Khalen Saunders was ejected in the third quarter for making contact with an official. Saunders got into a verbal exchange with several Jaguars offensive linemen and then started shoving everyone around him, including an official. The Jaguars will face the Denver Broncos next Sunday, while the Jets will play at the New Orleans Saints.
