In a closely contested match at the Allianz Stadium, Juventus edged Roma 2-1 to move within four points of Serie A leaders Inter Milan. The victory marks Juventus' second consecutive big win, following their 2-0 defeat of Bologna last weekend. Francisco Conceicao and Lois Openda were the scorers for Juventus, who moved four points behind Inter with 29 points from 14 matches. Roma, on the other hand, suffered their sixth league defeat of the season and slipped to sixth place, just one point behind Juventus. The Portuguese forward Conceicao had a golden opportunity to open the scoring early in the match, but he squandered it by shooting straight at Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar. However, he made amends by scoring the opening goal in the 43rd minute, after collecting a neat flick from Andrea Cambiaso. The second goal came in the 70th minute, courtesy of Openda, who bundled the ball into the net after Svilar's impressive stop to deny Weston McKennie's header. Roma responded with a goal from Tommaso Baldanzi in the 80th minute, but Juventus held on to claim a crucial three points. The win has breathed new life into Juventus' Serie A title hopes, as they remain just one point behind Roma, who occupy the last Champions League spot. With a game in hand, Juventus will look to capitalize on their momentum and close the gap on Inter further.
