Liverpool manager Arne Slot has finally broken his silence on the controversy surrounding Mohamed Salah's public outburst against the club. In response to the Egyptian striker's comments, Slot revealed that the Reds have taken disciplinary action by leaving Salah out of the squad for the upcoming Champions League fixture against Inter Milan. The 33-year-old striker had lashed out at the team after being benched for the third consecutive game, claiming his relationship with Slot had become non-existent and that he felt 'thrown under the bus.' Salah's comments were made in the mixed zone after the 3-3 draw against Leeds United. Slot, however, maintained that he was not affected by Salah's words, saying 'I'm not weak just because I'm calm and polite.' The Liverpool boss also downplayed the possibility of a rift between them, suggesting that Salah's comments were not unusual for a player who has been left out of the starting lineup. When asked about Salah's future at the club, Slot remained tight-lipped, stating that he had 'no clue' whether the striker had played his last game for the Reds. The uncertainty surrounding Salah's future comes as Liverpool continue to struggle in the Premier League, currently sitting in tenth place with 23 points from 15 matches. The club's Champions League campaign is also underwhelming, with the Reds in 13th spot with nine points from five games. Salah's absence for the upcoming fixture against Brighton may also become a concern, as he is set to report for Africa Cup of Nations duty with Egypt on Monday and could be unavailable until mid-January.
