Argentine football legend Lionel Messi is set to arrive in Delhi on Monday as part of the final leg of his four-city India tour. Following security lapses in Kolkata, authorities have tightened measures in the capital. Messi and his entourage will be staying at The Leela Palace in Chanakyapuri, where they will occupy an entire floor of Presidential Suites. According to reports, the hotel has been instructed to maintain secrecy about Messi's stay. With enhanced security in place, the hotel will become a secure "bubble" during his visit. A high-end 'meet and greet' experience has been arranged for select VIPs and corporate clients, priced at a whopping INR 1 crore. During his brief stay, Messi is scheduled to meet the Chief Justice of India and several parliamentarians, including a planned meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has been postponed due to his international tour. Messi's itinerary includes a football clinic at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where he will felicitate Minerva Academy's winning teams. A nine-a-side football game and a visit to Purana Qila, where he will meet several sporting personalities, are also on the agenda. After concluding his India tour, Messi is expected to depart the country at approximately 8:00 pm.
