NASCAR legend Kyle Busch has died at the age of 41 after being hospitalized with a severe illness. Busch, a two-time Cup Series champion and winner of more races than anyone across NASCAR's three national series, passed away without a cause of death being given.

Busch's family announced earlier this week that he was hospitalized with a severe illness, three days before he was set to compete in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Busch was testing in the Chevrolet racing simulator in Concord on Wednesday when he became unresponsive and was transported to a hospital in Charlotte, according to several people familiar with the situation.

The NASCAR community is in shock following the news of Busch's passing, with many drivers and teams issuing statements expressing their condolences to his family.

Busch was a polarizing figure known for his post-race fights, regular feuds with other drivers, and sometimes outlandish behavior, but he was also a multi-talented driver who won championships in 2015 and 2019 for Joe Gibbs Racing.

He had 63 Cup victories, 102 O'Reilly Auto Parts wins, and 69 Trucks victories, both records in NASCAR's three national series.

Busch is survived by his wife, Samantha, and their two children, Brexton and Lennix.
