North Carolina State University's CJ Bailey led the Wolfpack to a convincing 31-7 victory over Memphis in the Gasparilla Bowl on Friday. Bailey threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another, while teammate Jayden Scott contributed 108 yards on 19 carries. The Wolfpack's efficient first half set the tone for the game, with all points scored before halftime. Bailey completed 14 of 25 passes for 221 yards, and the team's defense played a crucial role in setting up several scoring opportunities. Memphis, which had been considered a College Football Playoff contender early in the season, lost its final four games under interim coach Reggie Howard. The Tigers' dual-threat quarterback Brendon Lewis finished with 106 passing yards, a touchdown, and an interception. NC State played without running back Hollywood Smothers, who entered the transfer portal, but still managed to outgain Memphis 337-303. The Wolfpack's victory marked their third consecutive win and capped off their season on a high note.
