Florentino Pérez has secured four more years as Real Madrid's president after winning club elections on Sunday.

With his victory, Pérez will now pave the way for Portuguese coach José Mourinho's return to the club, a move that has been long speculated.

Pérez has also announced plans to sign Liverpool center back Ibrahima Konaté and Inter Milan right back Denzel Dumfries, in addition to another major signing worth over 150 million euros.

The 79-year-old Pérez has been at the helm of the club since 2000, with a successful tenure that has seen Madrid win seven European Cups.

However, Pérez's leadership has been marred by controversy in recent years, including a failed Super League scheme and criticism over plans to sell 10% of the club to private investors.

Challenger Enrique Riquelme congratulated Pérez on his victory, but signaled that he will consider running again in the future.
