New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore is facing a misdemeanor domestic assault charge, making him the second team member in two days to be accused of a crime. This development comes after Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs was also charged in an alleged incident involving his personal chef on December 2. Diggs has denied any wrongdoing. According to court records, Barmore has been charged with one count of assault and battery involving a family/household member in connection with an incident in Mansfield, Massachusetts, on August 8. The alleged victim's identity has not been disclosed, and authorities have not released further information about the incident. Barmore is set to be arraigned in court on February 3, 2026. This is not the first time Barmore has been involved in a controversy; he was involved in a separate incident with police during a traffic stop in Providence, Rhode Island, in October 2024, for which he later apologized. What's more intriguing is that both Barmore and Diggs share the same attorney, David Meier. Meier has not commented on Barmore's case yet, but he represents Diggs in his separate case in Dedham, Massachusetts. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the allegations, stating, "These are all allegations... every day there are distractions." Barmore has appeared in all 16 games for the Patriots this season despite issues with blood clots that kept him out for much of the 2024 season.
