Indian badminton star PV Sindhu has been safely moved to a hotel after being stranded at the Dubai International Airport due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Sindhu was travelling to Birmingham to participate in the All England Open Badminton Championships when all flights were cancelled.

She and her coach were forced to take shelter at the airport, where they experienced a tense few hours with sounds of interceptions and an explosion nearby.

Thanking Dubai authorities and airport staff for their support, Sindhu said they stayed calm and supported each other during the frightening situation.

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is monitoring the situation, with many players affected by flight cancellations.

Other Indian athletes, including Unnati Hooda and U Vimal Kumar, have also been affected, while some have managed to reach Birmingham safely.
