Texas' undefeated streak continued on Sunday as they handed No. 13 Baylor a resounding 89-54 defeat. Madison Booker, a preseason All-American forward, led the charge with 27 points and eight rebounds. The Longhorns took control of the game with a 16-0 run in the first quarter, fueled by six different players scoring and Baylor's six turnovers in a span of 4.5 minutes. This momentum shift proved pivotal, as Baylor finished with a season-high 30 turnovers, resulting in 42 points for Texas. A significant blow to Baylor came when leading scorer Taliah Scott suffered an injury in the second quarter, forcing her to exit the game. Scott and teammate Yuting Deng managed nine points each for the Bears. Jordan Lee was instrumental for Texas, scoring 19 points, while Rory Harmon contributed 12 points and 10 assists. Harmon's three-point play was a key factor in the Longhorns' dominant first quarter. The two teams have a rich history, having previously competed in the Big 12 Conference and the Southwest Conference. With the win, Texas improves its record to 5-0 against Top 25 teams this season. Baylor concludes its non-conference schedule at home against Southern University on Thursday, while Texas hosts Northwestern State on Wednesday. The Longhorns have won 32 consecutive home games, adding to their impressive record.
