The Indian shooting landscape is witnessing a transformation with many elite shooters opting for personal coaches and individual training programmes.
Top names like 10m pistol world champion Samrat Rana, World Championships medallists Anish Bhanwala, Elavenil Valarivan, Esha Singh, and 2022 air rifle world champion Rudrankksh Patil have chosen to train separately, opting out of the national squad camps.
The vacant spots in the 12-day camp have been allotted to the next best ranked shooters, providing an excellent opportunity for the next-in-line shooters.
Shooters who have chosen to train separately will still have to join the short pre-departure camp ahead of the World Cups in Granada, Spain, and Munich.
Personal coaches will keep the national coaches informed to ensure a smooth transition.
This policy aims to bridge the gap and allow the bench to train at the national camp.
