A Hindu man was brutally beaten to death by a mob in Bangladesh's Rajbari district, sparking concerns over rising communal tensions. According to reports, Amrit Mondal was attacked on Wednesday night by locals who alleged he had demanded extortion money from a resident. Mondal, a 37-year-old member of the minority Hindu community, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. One of his associates, Mohammad Selim, was arrested by the police and weapons were recovered from his possession. The incident has raised questions about the increasing number of communal clashes in Bangladesh. Just last week, a 27-year-old man was killed by a mob and his body set on fire. The country is currently gripped by unrest following the killing of Osman Hadi, a prominent student leader who was shot dead on December 18. The police have launched an investigation into the latest incident, but locals claim Mondal was a known extortionist with a history of involvement in criminal activities. The case has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice and an end to the rising violence in Bangladesh.
