Coast Guard Launches Desperate Search for Missing Fort Myers Fishermen
A search is underway off Florida’s Gulf Coast after two fishermen failed to return from a Friday outing
A massive search operation is underway off Florida's Gulf Coast after two fishermen, Randall Spivey, 57, and his nephew Brandon Billmaier, 33, failed to return from a fishing trip on Friday. The US Coast Guard launched an air and sea response late Friday, after the pair's vessel was found abandoned about 70 miles offshore, with no sign of the men on board.
Their families are pleading for help, with Randall's wife, Tricia, appealing to the public to 'please find them.' The Lee County Sheriff's Office has released descriptions of the missing men: Spivey is 6-foot-1 with brown hair and eyes, while Billmaier is 6-foot-2 with strawberry-blond hair and brown eyes.
The Coast Guard is leading the search, urging anyone with information to contact them at 866-881-1392. Family members are also asking for the public's assistance, as they keep the two men in their prayers. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff's Office at 239-477-1000 or 911, or SWFL Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS to remain anonymous.
