The family of Dr. Helen Massiell Garay Sanchez is seeking answers after the 32-year-old anesthesiologist and mother of two was found dead inside a walk-in freezer at a Miami Dollar Tree store. The Nicaraguan native, who was visiting her family in Miami, was discovered on December 14 in the Little Havana neighborhood. According to the Miami police, officers responded to a call reporting a deceased woman at the store on SW 8th Street. First responders found Sanchez's body inside the freezer, but there were no immediate signs of foul play. Authorities have classified the case as an unclassified death, pending the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's findings. Surveillance footage shows Sanchez entering the store on the evening of December 13, shortly before closing time. However, she did not make a purchase and later entered a restricted employee-only area. An employee discovered her body the following morning when the store reopened. Dr. Sanchez was a dedicated physician who specialized in anesthesiology and worked with children suffering from congenital heart disease. Her family has created a GoFundMe page to raise funds to return her body to Nicaragua so she can be laid to rest surrounded by loved ones. The family is still waiting for answers, and police are continuing to review evidence and await the medical examiner's report to determine the cause of death. 'We still don't know what happened, and we're not getting any answers,' said Dr. Sanchez's cousin, Daniela Cortez.
