A major outage has hit Roblox, a popular online gaming and game-creation platform, leaving thousands of users in the US unable to access the platform or play games.
According to outage-tracking website Downdetector, a massive spike in problem reports was recorded on Friday, indicating a widespread network issue affecting users across multiple regions.
Data from Downdetector shows that over 29,000 users in the US reported issues with Roblox around 10:21 AM IST on Friday, suggesting that the disruption began late Thursday evening in the US and continued into Friday.
The company has acknowledged the outage on its official status page, stating that it is investigating an issue preventing users from accessing the website. However, the root cause of the disruption remains unknown.
A breakdown of Downdetector reports reveals that the majority of affected users faced difficulties accessing the Roblox website, with around 63% of complaints linked to website outages. Additionally, 27% of users reported problems with server connections, while 10% experienced gameplay-related issues such as crashes and lag.
Several major US cities, including Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York, were among the worst affected by the disruption, highlighting the broad scale of the outage.
