According to authorities, the couple was discovered unresponsive by a family member around 9 am on Tuesday morning. Both adults suffered gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is underway, with the Hoover Police treating the case as an apparent murder-suicide. A three-year-old child was also present in the home but was unharmed. Christina Chambers was a fixture in Alabama sports media, having worked at WBRC 6 News since 2015. She was a key part of the station's sports coverage, regularly anchoring major events like the Mercedes Marathon. Chambers continued to work with WBRC in a freelance capacity after leaving her full-time role in July 2021. Born and raised in Cullman, Alabama, Chambers was a standout athlete at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earning a Division I scholarship in cross country and track. She graduated with a journalism degree from UAB and was remembered by her colleagues as a dedicated mother and beloved colleague. The investigation into the tragic incident remains ongoing, with authorities yet to release a motive.
