Zelensky Hails 'Good Ideas' in Talks with US Envoys on Ukraine Peace Plan
Zelensky thanked the two envoys for their "constructive approach, the intensive work, and the kind words". | World News
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed optimism after meeting with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who are working on a 20-point plan to end the Russian invasion. The envoys' 'constructive approach' and 'intensive work' were appreciated by Zelensky, who believes their efforts can lead to a lasting peace. Although the US-led draft plan still faces scrutiny from Moscow, Ukraine has secured some concessions, including the removal of immediate requirements for withdrawal from the Donetsk region. The plan, which is currently under review by the Kremlin, aims to bring an end to the 'brutal Russian war' that has been ongoing for months. Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov is set to meet with the US envoys again to continue discussions.
