Indian stock exchanges, including the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), will remain closed on April 14, 2026, to observe Dr. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti.

Trading in the Equity Segment and the Equity Derivatives Segment will be suspended throughout the day, while the Currency Derivatives Segments, along with NDS-RST and Tri Party Repo segments, will also be closed.

However, there will be partial activity in select segments, including the Commodity Derivatives Segment and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment, which will remain shut during the morning session before reopening for the evening session.

This is the second trading holiday in April, following Good Friday on April 3. Markets will next remain closed on May 1 for Maharashtra Day.

The upcoming holiday comes at a time when markets are facing volatility, with Indian equities opening sharply lower on Monday due to a surge in global oil prices after US-Iran talks failed to make progress.
