Indian-origin venture capitalist Vinod Khosla has responded to an American entrepreneur who accused him of asking him to fire his co-founders in exchange for a more favorable investment deal.

The Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince shared his worst encounter with a venture capitalist during a fundraising round, naming Khosla in his post.

Prince recalled a dinner meeting with Khosla, where he proposed firing his co-founders in exchange for their stock, saying Khosla had given him a term sheet for his company's Series C funding round.

Khosla responded to the viral tweet, saying he stands by his practice of telling founders his opinion with 'brutal honesty', even if it's not popular.

Several entrepreneurs backed Khosla's working style, saying he always takes decisions he believes are right for the company, not necessarily for the founder.

Vinod Khosla, co-founder of Sun Microsystems and Khosla Ventures, has a net worth of $14.4 billion, according to Forbes.
