A spokesperson for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has called for a ban on films that portray Muslims in a negative light, citing Dhurandhar: The Revenge as an example.
Waris Pathan, the AIMIM spokesperson, stated that such films are made by 'cheap people' to spread lies and hatred, and that they should be banned by the government.
Pathan also criticized the film's depiction of Muslims as villains, saying that it is causing issues in the country and that the government should take action to prevent it.
Dhurandhar 2, the sequel to the 2025 hit Dhurandhar, has received mixed reviews and was banned in the Gulf countries, but it has done well at the box office, collecting over ₹234 crore net in India so far.
